What are HS codes?

HS codes (Harmonized System codes) are international product classifications used in trade to identify and categorize goods for tariffs, regulations, and reporting.

Can I search by HS code in ImportGenius?

Yes. Annual subscribers and those with the HS code add-on can search and download data by HS2, HS4, HS6, or HS8.

How accurate are the predictions?

We only display predictions with at least 80% confidence. When HS6 confidence is low, we fall back to HS4 or HS2.

Which years are covered?

HS codes are available now for 2024–2025 records. Data from 2016–2023 is being backfilled in stages through Q3 2025.

What if I only know part of an HS code?

Use the “Starts with” search operator to query broad HS2 or HS4 to find records in those chapters (example 85* or 2709*)
