"I joined this company because I wanted to ride a rocketship. As a marketer, I get to light the fuse."

What I believe

What I've learned

I was part of the team that launched the Union-Pearson Express, a $500 million rail link from Toronto’s central business district to its suburban airport. When I moved into technology startups, I went from being part of a 75-person marketing team to leading very small teams.

The only way to accomplish things in tech is to be scrappy about it: dive into the deep end and figure out how to navigate the currents. I’m more comfortable working this way because I’ve been doing it my whole life.

I’m the daughter of Sri Lankan immigrants. I did a six-month internship in Russia. I’m a mother of three kids. I am a master at learning fast, and prioritizing for impact.

What’s next

In the past I’ve worked for startups that were still trying to discover product-market fit. ImportGenius is different because businesses everywhere need what we have. And when a company already has a strong fit with its customers, marketing can truly elevate the business.

I’m doing it by implementing AI tools across the board.

I don’t go a day without AI. I can generate more kinds of content faster than ever before, all of it targeted to specific business segments. ImportGenius has an incredible story to tell, and I plan to invent new ways to tell it.
